Amara, Jessy, and I joined the YMCA last month, mostly because the building is less than a block away from us. We’re training for the Y Run For Kids, set for April 13th. It’s a 5k run. I’ve been running 1.5 miles this week. That’s a big improvement from when I started; I could barely run half a mile a day. Buying running shoes helped.
The plan is to add half a mile to my run every week. That should bring me up to 3.5 miles a run in time for the 5k (5 km = 3.11 miles).
